Marmara College Came in 3rd in Destination Imagination Turkey

Destination Imagination Turkey finals were organized in Kuşadası Efes Congress Center between 9-12 March with the participation of more than 2 thousand students and 365 teams. Marmara Private College took part in the event with 32 students and 5 teams in 5 different branches.

Marmara Private College’s team named “Hababam” consisting of the students Ata Kalender, Ümit Deniz Özgültekin, Melisa Tazegül, Doğan Akça, Arif Aydın Koca, Beril Çayır and Enes Buğur under the guidance of Biology teacher Aslı Didem Demircan and Chemistry teacher Elvan Gürken came in 3rd in the technical branch in which the students proved their skills in team work and problem solving. Moreover, the t-shirt designed by the same students came in first in the voting organized in Efes Congress Center. The students who will represent Turkey in DI World Final that will be held in America between 20-27 May will wear the t-shirts designed by the Marmarians.

What is Destination Imagination?

Destination Imagination is an international project dedicated to teaching students the skills needed to succeed in school, their careers and beyond. They develop project-based learning programs that blend STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education with the arts and social entrepreneurship. The students use the creative process to turn their ideas into reality and learn invaluable skills through the process including creative and critical thinking, project management, team building and risk taking. The teams raking the highest in Turkey are entitled to participate in the world finals in the University of Tenessee, Knoxville, USA in May.
