THE HISTORICAL PENINSULA TOUR OF MARMARA STUDENTS

Students of Marmara College classes 11-B and 11-C had a tour that covered a route from Beyazıt to Gülhane on October 30th, 2018, guided by Turkish Language and Literature Teacher Nermin Nemlioğlu.

Students started their day visiting the Yahya Kemal Museum in Beyazıt. Then, they visited the Press Museum which is Turkey’s first and the world’s fourth museum regarding press. Before having lunch at the historical restaurant “Sultanahmet Köftecisi” and visiting the Basilica Cistern, they visited the tomb of Mahmut the 2nd, and the graves of people of literature in the yard of the tomb and learned about the history of Çemberlitaş. Finally, they visited the Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Museum Library in Gülhane Park. The students had a lovely day with this tour while having the opportunity to witness other sides of their city that they are unaccustomed to.
