“Best Buddies Matching Ceremony” aiming establishing friendship between the individuals with intellectual disabilities and the healthy individuals mutually and on equal footing was held on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at Marmara Private College. 39 students from “Marmara Dreams without Barriers Club” starting to carry out the Best Buddies Turkey Program in 2014 - 2015 with the philosophy that the language of the humanity is love and love means having a perspective for a life without barriers met with the buddies from Tomurcuk Foundation with a great enthusiasm. The matching ceremony started with piano, violin and transverse flute concert. The ceremony continued with the opening speech of Marmara Private College Principal Mehmet Alkan, Best Buddies introductory film, the video by Marmara Dreams without Barriers Club and the dance and percussion shows prepared by the students at Tomurcuk Foundation for Private Marmara College. At the end of the ceremony 39 students selected their buddies as a result of the matchings performed by taking various criteria into account.  The buddies matched can communicate with their “Best Buddies” via telephone, SMS, social media or face to face and do whatever they like as friends. They can go to cafes, cinema, walk around parks; in short they will be the initiators for the recognition and acceptance of the individuals with the intellectual and developmental disabilities in the society.
