Definition of High Quality Learning

It is a learning process in which students undertake responsibilities, make self-evaluations, reflect on acquisitions/learning outcomes, are enthusiastic about purposeful and understandable goals and aware of where they are in the process, where to reach and how to achieve the goals.  

High Quality Learning for Students:

  • Students have active role in learning
  • Students are enthusiastic about learning
  • Students are able work both individually and in cooperation with friends and teachers (group work) 
  • Students reflect on their learning
  • Students determine goals and make plan for the goals
  • Students understand and recognize that learning is a process/continuum in which it is acquired knowledge and skills and know that where they are in this process/continuum
  • Students make interdisciplinary links 

High Quality Learning for Teacher:

  • Teachers plan courses effectively using different methods according to the different learning styles
  • Teachers assign students responsibility and guide the learning. Teachers use assignments and projects effectively given for reinforcement or preparation for the class to challenge and improve the students.
  • Teachers create a positive and enjoyable learning environment and encourage/motivate students.
  • Being in cooperation with students, teachers ensures that students determine purposeful and understandable goals
  • Teachers assess learning of students systematically. They give feedbacks and support students to develop.
  • Teachers give feedbacks to parents. They cooperate with parents and guide them to support students.
