Marmara College is at The World Scholar’s Cup Champions Tournament at Yale University in the USA after The World Qualification in The Hague

Marmara College students won 21 gold and 19 silver medals at The World Scholar’s Cup, which took place in The Hague with 1900 contestants from 51 countries around the world. They made us proud by qualifying for The Tournament of Champions, which will be organized at Yale University.

The theme of this year’s contest, which took place in The Hague, Netherlands on July 20-27, 2019, was “A World on the Margins”. The language was English. The students from around the world have been preparing for the history, science, art, music, literature, social sciences and private categories since the beginning of the year. After participating in the local rounds, those who qualified represented their countries in The World Championship in The Hague.

Marmara College took place in the contest, which included individual and team debate, writing and knowledge contest categories, with three teams consisting of Azra Deniz Kasırga , Hüveyda Zelal İlbak, Neşe Sevgi Alkanlı, Gözde Güreli, Doğa Tatlı, Yaren Bahar Tozaner, Oğuzhan Yılmaz, Efe Divrengi and Mert Kırlı, and won 21 gold and 17 silver medals. Teams of Azra Deniz Kasırga, Hüveyda Zelal İlbak, Neşe Sevgi Alkanlı and Gözde Güreli, Doğa Tatlı, Yaren Bahar Tozaner, who have been preparing for the contest since the beginning of the year with determination and discipline, qualified for the Tournament of Champions, which will take place at Yale University in the USA on November 8-13, 2019.

While the students, who made our country proud, will continue challenging their successful opponents from all around the world in The Tournament of Champions, they will also have the opportunity to meet the most successful students and professors in the world. They will attend classes and experience how it feels like to be a student there.

Students of Marmara College came together with hundreds of students from different countries and cultures while they shared and competed at The World Scholar’s Cup in The Hague. They stated that it was an experience they can never forget, and that, preparing for and taking place in this contest was a great opportunity for their development.

We are proud of our students, who competed with hundreds of students from international schools from countries such as the USA, the UK and Canada, with English as their native language. We would like to congratulate them and their teachers for their great success.
