THE 95TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF TURKISH REPUBLIC

The Republic Day Celebration Ceremony started with one minute silence followed by singing the Turkish National Anthem in commemoration of the founder of our Republic, great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all martyrs who contributed in the establishment of Turkish Republic. Subsequently, Turkish Language and Literature teacher Demet Özdabakoğlu made the speech regarding the meaning and the importance of the day.

The winners of the poetry and essay contest which was organized by the Turkish Language and Literature teachers of Marmara Education Institutions in order to get the students to think over the Republic beforehand, Naz Özdabakoğlu from class 10 A and Ekin Özsoy from class 11 D, read their poem and essay. The video named “What does Republic Mean to You?” prepared by the students of class 11 A of the vocational high school under the guidance of Turkish Language and Literature teacher Selin Alkan Güven took place in the ceremony. The dance performance prepared by Physical Education teacher Bahar Bora and her students was appreciated by the spectators. There was also a short play prepared by Turkish Language and Literature teacher Handan Sözbilen and performed by 11th grade students of the science high school. The ceremony ended with Turkish Youth’s Answer to Atatürk. The Marmara family celebrated the republic once again enthusiastically singing the İzmir Anthem all together.
