Assessment and Evaluation

The purpose of the assessment and evaluation studies carried out in our school is to determine if the education programme has reached its goal or not in consequence of the assessment and evaluation of the student’s success level. Tests are implemented with the purpose of assessing student success. The tests implemented take various names according to their specific purposes. Three kinds of test are implemented in our school.

GENERAL EVALUATION TESTS

Tests implemented with the purpose of defining whether the students are ready in terms of knowledge and skill level. With this test, what kind of weaknesses the studenta have and these are compensated. 

SUBJECT SURVEY TESTS

Tests implemented with the purpose of defining the student’s learning deficiencies and disabilities related to a specific subject or unit. By giving place to all the target behaviours about the subjects taught, these tests help to define which of them the student has achieved and which she/he has not. Tests of this type are ones that do not aim at giving marks but at defining the student’s deficiencies of knowledge and skill.

PLACEMENT TESTS

Tests implemented at certain periods or at the end of the academic year with the purpose of evaluating the general success and situation of the student.

With these tests, the achievements the student performed at the beginning, during and at the end of the academic year.

Following each test, the school principal, the relevant assistant principal, class teachers’ coordinator, department heads, class teacher, guidance counsellor and the assessment and evaluation teacher come together the students’ general situation. The resultant evaluations are shared with the students and their parents.

The assessment and evaluation center carries out test implementations in cooperation with the guidance and counselling unit.

Various tests and surveys such as learning styles tests, multiple intelligence tests, self-assessment tests, academic self-concept inventory, exam anxiety inventory and Professional designation tests are implemented in our school. The results are shared with the students and their parents following the last assessment of the guidance and counselling center.
