THE OBJECTIVES OF MUSIC TRAINING and TEACHING COURSES

Our objective is to improve our students’ skills of:

  • Singing the national anthems and marching songs, the Turkish National Anthem being in the first place as well as the folk songs and local rhymes in a correct and meaningful way.   
  • Using one’s voice in a correct and effective way. 
  • Distinguishing what is qualified from what is not in all styles of music.  
  • Having acquaintance with the leading pieces of European and world music.
  • Using one’s voice in a healthy and conscious way in the voice mutation process of adolescence.  
  • Grasping the importance of culture, art and music in the lives of people and societies.
  • Recognizing traditional and modern, local, national and universal music styles. 

THE PURPOSES OF MUSIC TRAINING and TEACHING COURSES

The main purposes in music training are:

  • To awaken a love of music in the chils and improve her/his world of imagination, sense of rhythm and musical ear.  
  • To broaden the child’s horizon and improve her/his creativity by teaching of music intruments, sound schemes and sense of rhythm with the support of computer and projection technologies. 
  • To encourage the students to play at least one music instrument or singing according to their abilities via practices carried out in order to reinforce the music knowledge, skills, achievements and general knowledge. 
  • In 5th, 6th and 7th grades, detailed musical note training, instrument training, song training, music recital, rythm practices and informative studies about composers are carried out. Introduction to important institutions, figures and activities in the field of music is aimed. Sound and breath elements are dwelled upon. Another objective of these studies is informing students about the relations between human societies and music.
  • Our students have the opportunity to receive a more advanced level of education with the use of music instruments in music courses. Important pieces of music literature are regularly listened in our courses. The aim is to improve the listening skill of the students and to contribute to their cultural lives. 
  • Every student attending to the art activities have the opportunity to present their performances at atelier concerts and endyear shows.

THE CLASSROOMS OF THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT 

  • In line with these objectives, music training classrooms are prepared so as to provide an extensive spectrum of opportunities. Our students can make music when they want with the opportunities provided by our four music classrooms and six music units where piano, violin, guitar, keyboard and orchestra studies are conducted. There is piano in all our classrooms where art courses are conducted.
  • Music and sound records of the dramas and musicals are done by our own music department.
