ECIS/CIS - EUROPEAN COUNCIL OF INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS
ECIS, which aims to bring the primary and secondary education schools throughout the worrld as part of an international perspective is the most influential organizations in this field. Marmara College is a member of ECIS since 1996.



"SOCRATES" Within the scope of SOCRATES Programmes, which is an action programme of European Union in the field of education, COMENIUS projects are carried out with the coordination of State Planning Organization and EU Education and Youth Programmes Central Directorate ULUSAL AJANS (National Agency). Within this framework, the “System and Individual” project was initiated in 2003-2004 academic year with the cooperation of Netherlands, Spain, Maltha, Italy and Greece, and the project is still in operation. In the 2004-2005 academic year, the film Project entitled “Official and Traditional Holidays and Celebrations” was initiated and the project is still in operation. Besides, an application was made to ULUSAL AJANS for the projects “Surfing in the Mediterranean” in tandem with Greece and Italy and “Time Machine” in tandem with Italy, Ireland, German and Norway to be initiated in the 2005-2006 academic year.

In addition five of our teachers attended various In-Service Education Courses organized in various countries as part of SOCRATES Programmes and took their certificates. Our teachers are continuing to attend these in-service education courses.

"SEMEP" - SOUTHEASTERN MEDITERRANEAN ENVIRONMENT PROJECTS
Marmara College is a member of SEMEP organization which is carried out by UNESCO. Within this scope, our students actively participate in national and international activities and competitions, whic are organized by SEMEP.


"AFS" – WORLD CULTURE FOUNDATION
Istanbul Marmara Private College supports its students to actively attend AFS long-term students Exchange programmes. In the 2004-2005 academic year, 3 of our students were awarded AFS scholarship

"YRE" – YOUNG REPORTERS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Our school is a member of YRE since 1999, which is supported by UNESCO with its purpose of setting and developing an awareness for environment among young people of 14-17 age group. Within the framework of this organization which encourages students to exchange information and projects via the Internet in line with the purposes of the organization, Marmara College students present their projects on the Internet every year. ‘FULLBRIGHT’ EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES:
Within the scope of Fullbright (Turkish-American cultural agreement) teacher exchange programme, the teachers of Marmara College won the first and second places two years in a row at the exams held throughout Turkey.

"ECO-SCHOOLS" - ADAPTATION TO NATURE AMONG CHILDREN

This project which has been commenced in 1999 in affiliation with TURÇEV brought us our first green flag in 2001 with the theme of wastes. Afterwards, we won our second gren flag with the theme of energy. The purpose of the project is to have the elementary school students acquire the skill of adaptation to nature. The project proved to be the starting point of sustainable environmental education.

"SAW"- SCIENCE ACROSS THE WORLD
Marmara College is a member of “Science Across the World” community, which carries out joint works and projects with member schools throughout the world.
