Ölçme Değerlendirme

Education is a process of investment in human. In this investment process the measurement and evaluation have great importance. The purpose of the measurement and evaluation is to determine if the education programme has reached its goal or not, what the missing parts are and what the precautions are for the missing parts.

The purpose of the assessment and evaluation studies carried out in our school is to determine if the education programme has reached its goal or not in consequence of the assessment and evaluation of the student’s success level. Marmara Education Institutions measurement and evaluation center provides service for searching, developing and applying of the methods and techniques which consider the individual differences of the student in the evaluation of the teaching-education programmes applied and student success with the purpose of increasing the quality of educational services.

In parallel with this service, there are several exams with the purpose of observing the students for different evaluations in different times of the academic year. The exams are share with the principal, assistant principals and teacher after being analyzed in detail. The various tests, surveys and inventories are applied in cooperation with the counseling and guidance department. The results of the inventories, tests and surveys are shared with the authorized people, students and parents. Moreover the students and parents are informed in relation to the change in exam systems by means of seminars.

MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION FOR HIGH SCHOOLS

The purpose of the works in high school is to prepare the student for the next grade level and help them to enroll in a notable university. In high school we have subject screening tests, reinforcement tests and exams for the preparation for YGS-LYS. 

Each teacher teaching at Prep, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade levels grants the students with tests with the purpose of reinforcement after the subjects. The tests granted are analyzed by the measurement and evaluation center and the teacher is informed. Moreover, the subject screening tests are applied in high schools independently. The tests are analyzed by the measurement and evaluation center and the teacher is informed. Besides these, 11th grades have the preparation exams for YGS and 12th grades have the preparation exams for YGS and LYS. The results of the exams are share with the principal, assistant principals and teacher after being analyzed in detail. The measurement and evaluation center also applies tests including, Learning Styles, Multiple intelligence test, Self-evaluation Inventory, Academic-Self Concept Inventory, Exam Anxiety Inventory, Vocational Determination test in cooperation with the counseling and guidance department. After sharing with the counseling department, the results are shared with the students and parents.

MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS

  • Classical exams: 1st -3rd grades: There are evaluation studies conducted in order to determine to what extent the students learn the subjects. 4th grades: The students have two or three classical exams for each course in accordance with the course hours during a semester.
  • Class and activity participation: 4th grade students are graded for each course in relation to the class participation within the frame of the evaluation of the criteria including class participation, achievement of the duty and responsibilities, studying systematically in the basis of the process.
  • Quizzes: In Marmara Private Primary School, the relevant teacher applies Quiz periodically within or without the knowledge of the students. The quizzes in question provide information about the activity of the students during the learning process and learning degree.
  • GDS (General Evaluation Exams): General Evaluation Exams are applied for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade levels in our school. There are 3 exams for the 2nd and 3rd grade levels and 4 exams for the 4th grade level. The purpose of GDSs is to examine the students and repeat the subjects. After the exam the Measurement and Evaluation Center analyzes the results and prepares report; and the studies required are planned.
  • KTT (Subject Reviewing Tests): Subject Reviewing Tests are applied in our school for Turkish Language-Mathematics and Science-Social Sciences for the 4th grades. The purpose of the subject reviewing tests is to determine whether the on-going and/or completed subject course is comprehended by the students. The deficiencies of the students in subjects are determined by means of the reports prepared for the teachers by the Measurement and Evaluation Center after the tests. The deficiencies are improved by means of the etudes during lunch breaks or extra homework.

MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION FOR SECONDARY/MIDDLE SCHOOLS

  • Classical exams: 5th -6th -7th and 8th grades: The students have two or three classical exams for each course in accordance with the course hours during a semester.
  • Class and activity participation: 5th -6th -7th and 8th graders are graded for each course in relation to the class participation within the frame of the evaluation of the criteria including class participation, achievement of the duty and responsibilities, studying systematically in the basis of the process.
  • Projects: 5th -6th -7th and 8th graders are responsible to carry out a project work on at least one course they select following the 3rd or 4th week of the school. The projects shall be submitted on time and in accordance with the criteria determined. The project shall be evaluated not only in terms of the product but also in terms of the process.
  • Quizzes: In Marmara Private Primary and Secondary Schools, the relevant teacher applies Quiz periodically within or without the knowledge of the students. The quizzes in question provide information about the activity of the students during the learning process and learning degree.
  • BTS (Information Reviewing Test): The purpose of BTS applied to 5th -6th -7th grade levels in the beginning of the semester is to measure their readiness to the semester. The analysis of the measurement and evaluation center is to determine the need for the weekend courses and the way to follow.
  • KTT (Subject Reviewing Tests): Subject Reviewing Tests are applied in our school for Turkish-Mathematics-Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge once, and Sciences-Social Sciences-Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge in each 10-15 days for 8th, 6th and 7th grade levels. The purpose of the subject reviewing tests is to determine whether the on-going and/or completed subject course is comprehended by the students. The deficiencies of the students in subjects are determined by means of the reports prepared for the teachers by the Measurement and Evaluation Center after the tests. The deficiencies are improved by means of the etudes during lunch breaks or extra homework.
  • TEOG Exam (Transition from primary to secondary education): These exams are organized in order for the preparation of TEOG exam which is initiated by MEB in 2013-2014 academic year on behalf of GDS. After the exam it is possible to analyze the students by means of the reports prepared by the Measurement and Evaluation Center.
