MOLE DAY

World Mole Day is celebrated in the name of emphasizing the importance of Avogadro’s number 6,02.1023 (=1 Mole) and Chemistry on 23rd September every year. Marmara Educational Intuitions, the Science-Mathematics Department celebrated “World Mole Day” on Friday, 21 October 2016 during the 8th course hour. The Mole-themed posters that were prepared by the Grade 9 students were hung on the boards at the school within the scope of the Mole Day events organized by the Chemistry teachers Elvan Gürken and Elif Çınar. The Mole-themed songs were played during the breaks. The Mole Day events started with the interview named “What is Mole?” made by the students at 9-A at İsmail Hakkı Tonguç Hall during the 8th course hour. Following that, the students named Ahmet and Emir from the Science High School 9-A class made presentation on “What is Mole? and Who is Avogadro?” and informed their friends. Duygu Karaağaç, the student at the Science High School 9-A class practiced “Volcano Experiment” to visualize the information given on the presentation. Finally, the video clip for the Rap song on “Mole” prepared by at students at the Science High School 10-A class. The celebration ended with the dances accompanied by the Mole-themed songs by the students who had enjoyable time.
