HUMAN IN THE NATURE

We visited Alpağut village in Bolu, Seben between 24th and 25th October 2015 within the scope of the project named ‘Human in the Nature’ with the 11th grade students at Marmara Private College.

We carried out our projects in the village within the scope of agricultural activity held between 17th and 25th October in cooperation with MEF Private High School, Private Notre Dame De Sion High School and Private Saint Michel with which we have carried out the project for three years. 33 students from Marmara College took part in the project in the village under the guidance of Sedat Toy, the Project Coordinator and Geography teacher.

Another reason for organizing the project in this village for three years is the touristic places the village has.  Therefore we had opportunity to visit Savlun Canyon located around Alpağut village with the ancient stone houses remaining from Phrygians.

Seeing Göynük, one of the provinces in Bolu and the formerly city during Ottoman times, and Mudurnu with wooden mansions with unique architecture and maintaining the Ottoman traditions made us feel that the time never passed here and the ancient and original beauties can be preserved.

The generous rain, fresh air and the forest, sincere and friendly Alpağot villagers, the staff in Seben Municipality are with us for three years and we are really happy to be with them. Hereby, we continue our projects in order to preserve Alpağot village and ensure it becomes ‘Eco-village’ with the agricultural activities we have carried out, with very delicious Seben apple, with the theme of ‘Sustainable Village and Sustainable Environment.’
