Best Buddies social responsibility Project is a programme that establishes friendship between individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and volunteers. The organization has been carrying out its activities in 53 countries with more than 800.000 volunteers for 25 years.
The social responsibility project initiated with the cooperation with Düşler Akademisi in November 2013 continued with the application for Best Buddies Turkey in November 2014. The students at Marmara Private College and Marmara Private Science High School were trained on project presentation, leadership and correct approach to people with disabilities at the headquarter of Best Buddies Turkey İstanbul on separate days in November 2014. The students started the friendship programme by being matched with their friends with disabilities in the event held on Wednesday, 8th April at Hasan Ali Yücel Conference Hall at 15.00.
The students and the buddies having exciting and enjoyable moments during the ceremony which was also participated by Selim Eraydın, the coordinator of Best Buddies Turkey and Pınar Özkaptan, the General Coordinator of Düşler Akademisi had opportunity to know each other and make friendship by having conversation with the offerings provided by the school at the end of the ceremony.
