WE BID FAREWELL TO OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS FROM ASTRAKHAN, RUSSIA

We saw off the students and teachers of Astrakhan Linguistic Gymnasium School, who were our guests in Marmara College on December 10th -18th 2018 to their home, Russia.

Our students experienced a linguistic and cultural interaction as part of the short-term AFS student exchange project between Turkey and Russia. They have developed their cooperation, problem solving and language skills, which are essential for social life, using both English and Turkish languages. They also had the opportunity to overcome prejudices, respect individuals from different cultures, co-exist with them and strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

Our students experienced the joy of cooperation through the program themed “WATER”, which included laboratory, art atelier, sports, classroom, theatre and music activities.

In this program hosted by Marmara College students, guest students said that they enjoyed experiencing Turkish culture in a warm environment and visiting a historical city like Istanbul. They also stated that they returned to their country with warm memories.

Our students have already started preparing for the activities, which will take place in Astrakhan, Russia on April 7th -13th with great enthusiasm.
