Two teams from Marmara College and one team from Marmara Science High School took part in Turkey finals of “Destination Imagination Turkey 2016”, the international festival organized in Kuşadası, Efes Kültür Merkezi between March 12-13, 2016 under the guidance of Aslı Didem Demircan, the biology teacher and Elif Çınar, the chemistry teacher. The t-shirt designed by Ece Gülatma, the student at 9-B class, had plurality as a result of the ballot; the teams representing Turkey in Global Final 2016 held between May 25-28, 2016 wore the t-shirt.

Destination Imagination is an international program aiming that the students adopt the creativity, problems solving skills and being creative as a life style in parallel with the academic process. 309 teams in total took part in 2016 Turkey finals. The members of the team from Marmara Private Science High School named “Bukalemun” consisting of Eralp Kaan Karduz, Sıla Dinga, Beyza Karadağ, Yiğit Altar Piyade, Güneş Sağnak and Çiğdem Çıtak came in second in Instant Challenge categories, the members of the team from Marmara Private College named “Hababam” consisting of Arif Aydın Koca, Ata Kalender, Beril Çayır, Doğan Akçay, Enes Buğur, Melisa Tazegül and Deniz Ümit Özgültekin came in third in Instant Challenge categories and became the only team with “Hovercraft” in the categories they took part. Moreover, the members of “Üçnoktabir” team including Başak Çorabcıoğlu, Ece Gülatma, Çağla Atcı, Pelin Gökkuş, Onat Ribar, İnci Cengiz and Beyza Yasak from Marmara Private College represented the school in best way in the organization.
